WE MOVED: My Maryland Anniversary and Our New Place.

When I moved to Maryland two years ago, I thought “What the heck am I doing?!” I had just graduated college less than a week before, I had piled everything from my college apartment into my parents’ Nissan Pathfinder. I was on my way to move into a one bedroom apartment with my long distance boyfriend (now fiance) of 2.5 years. I thought I had to be insane. Other people told me I was crazy. But I thought, “Well it’s now or never”.

Now two years later, I’m happily engaged with our little frenchie, Nardo and we have outgrown our first apartment together. What once was a nice cozy space of our own has become slightly cramped. While bittersweet, it was time to move on.

When we first moved in, we had NOTHING. No couch, some boxes and a bed. And since then we’ve accumulated some stuff. By some I mean A LOT. Peter also now works from home running his own business. Cramped is a bit of an understatement.

We have now (somewhat) moved into our new townhouse rental. It’s still a one bedroom but with SO MUCH MORE SPACE! Finally a place for Peter’s office (that isn’t the garage) and some space to spread out.

Over the last week, we’ve been attempting to pack up our place. As previously noted, we’ve accumulated a lot (lol). I’ve moved plenty of times, between dorms and college apartments. But this was probably my (*our) biggest move yet.

We’re starting to settle in but there’s still so much to unpack and lots of organizing to do. It has been fairly smooth so far. There were some bumps along the road (R.I.P to our ceramic hippo toothbrush holder) and possibly some injuries. But we’re getting there.

I’m sharing some images below but can’t wait to share how everything looks once we’ve fully designed our new place. Since Peter and I are both designers, interior design is something that comes naturally to us and with this space we really want to make it our own.

Stay tuned to see how it all comes together.
