Bachelorette Party Recap
Updated: Jun 28, 2018
This past weekend 16 of my closest friends, family, family-to-be and I headed off to Charleston to celebrate my #LastFlightAsMissWhite! We had such an incredible weekend and the weather was AMAZING. I have been to Charleston once before with my family but we stayed outside of the city at Folly Beach. But this time we stayed just two blocks from King Street in Downtown Charleston.
The weekend kicked off when my bridesmaid and college roommate, Syd drove down to Baltimore from Philly so we could fly down together. But first, we head over to Old Bay Day
at The Sandlot. We sipped on some cocktails, ate some nachos and played with the most adorable puppy. Afterwards, we went to see Rachel from Two Bronzed Babes to get our spray tans for the weekend! We ended the night with some Chipotle and some sleep.
We were finally heading out to Charleston! All of other girls were already there when we arrived and waiting with gifts and some of the cutest decor!!
We stayed in the most BEAUTIFUL VRBO that had been recently renovated. The house was actually 3 separate apartments and one shared porch/backyard. This worked out well so that everyone had their own space and the front apartment (mine) was the “Party House”.
The first night out I wore this cute dress from Francesca’s along with this beautiful “Bride to be” sash my friends gifted me!
To start the night off we went over to Stars Rooftop Bar which was on my bucket list and it didn’t disappoint! While it was beyond hot outside, we grabbed some yummy Frose and hung out before dinner.
For dinner we went over to Indaco who was BEYOND accommodating when it came to our large group. They created a prix fixe menu for us that was served family style. They were also super accommodating with the amount of gluten allergies we had! The girls and I could not stop talking about how delicious all the food was and HOW MUCH THERE WAS! Highly recommend them. We then spent the rest of the night dancing and bar hopping down King Street.
After grabbing some Advil and Tums (lol), we made our way over to Poogan’s Smokehouse for brunch! I originally had Poogan’s Porch on my list since it’s highly recommended but they were fully booked for the weekend and recommended their sister restaurant, Poogan’s Smokehouse. And OMG, so freakin’ good! I had the pulled pork omelette and Bellini. Again, all of the girls loved the food!
After brunch we decided to do a little exploring. First, we went to the infamous Pineapple fountain. It was a great spot to get group pics with everyone and to cool off a little in the heat!
We then walked over to Rainbow Row which I was beyond excited to see in person! We took soooo many pics until we were all sweating. It was then time to head back to get ready for the beach!
While getting ready for the beach, everyone put on these ADORABLE tank tops that my bridesmaids had made. We also put on the cutest (and funniest) flash tatts!
Our original plan was to pop over to Folly Beach for the rest of the day to do some lounging and bar hopping. But when we pulled up maps it said with traffic it would take an hour to get there instead of the normal 20 mins! But no stress here, we just decided to go to Sullivan’s Island instead which was 30 mins away. I’m so happy we did because it was such a fun day.
We made it to the beach and instantly cooled ourselves down in the ocean. It was the perfect temp and exactly what we needed on that sweltering Charleston day. We then lounged on the beach drinking some spiked sparkling water out of these cute cactus cups!
Once it was 5 o’clock we realized we should prob eat something and get a little happy hour! We went over to Mex 1 to grab some Margs and Nachos before heading back to the house.
For the rest of the night, I wanted to spend quality time with all of the girls and have everyone bond since most didn’t know each other! We hung out in our PJs, played drinking games and took a bunch of Polaroids! It was a great end to a perfect day.
It was sadly the last day and most girls had already taken early flights home by the time I was up! So my mom, sister, Sydney, Peter’s sister, Sarah and I all headed over to Hominy Grill for a quick brunch which did not disappoint. Their shrimp and grits were TO DIE FOR!
After that it was sadly time to head home. So we made our way to the airport and headed back up north.
I seriously cannot thank my bridesmaids, friends, family and future sister-in-laws enough for an incredible weekend. It was honestly the best weekend of my life and I wouldn’t change a single thing. They put so much planning and time into creating an awesome weekend just for me and I’m so honored.
I can’t believe we’re now only 3 months away from the wedding and I’m excited for all of the events leading up to it!
